Why a new brand
Buying solid wood furniture in this market currently means choosing between two things: design-led brands where the material is an afterthought, and solid-wood retailers where the presentation is a permanent sale. We think there's room for a third: furniture where the material argument is made properly — species, joinery, finish, tolerances, published in full — and the design deserves the material.
Where we are
Honestly: early. The brand is New Zealand-based, the first shipment is in progress, and the range is in development. This site exists now because the standard should be public before the products are — so that when they arrive, you can check them against what we said. The trading entity is Oaknest Limited. First shipment lands Summer 2026–27, warehousing in Auckland with nationwide NZ delivery from day one; Australian delivery opens with east-coast metro areas (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane) and widens from there.
Who is behind it
A small New Zealand-based team with backgrounds in furniture retail and freight — people who have seen enough veneered chipboard sold as "solid" to want to build the alternative properly. We'll introduce ourselves by name closer to launch; until then we'd rather the standard spoke first. No stock-photo teams, no invented bios.
The standard we'll be held to
Everything on how it's built and how we choose wood applies to us first. The buyer's checklist on the wood guide ends with eight questions to ask any retailer; our launch-day product pages will answer all eight, per piece, or the piece doesn't launch.
If you're a supplier, freight partner, retailer or you'd like to work with us: contact and trade enquiries.
